Lo que empezó siendo hace 200 años una fiesta campestre de los cerveceros de Munich se convertido en una celebración a la que acuden más de 6 millones de personas de todo el mundo y donde se consumen en dos semanas más de 7 millones de litros de cerveza. Es el Oktoberfest que se celebra las dos últimas semanas de septiembre en la capital de Baviera. Ya es tradicional que por estas fechas llegue por la linea de las agencias estas imágenes de hombres con ridículo pantalón corto y mujeres con rebosantes escotes bebiendo grandes jarras de cerveza.

Una fiesta con muchas simlitudes con lo que es nuestra Feria de Abril de Sevilla. Pero a diferencia de la Feria sevillana, en el Oktoberfest la fiesta se mantiene abierta al público general y son pocas las carpas privadas donde se come chucrut en vez de jamón y se bebe cerveza en vez de fino. Segun Thilo, jefe de sección de internacional de Público y alemán de Dusseldorf, el error es pensar que se trata de una fiesta nocturna y el secreto es acudir a medio día, empezar a beber, comer un codillo y volver a casa borracho a media tarde. Espero que disfrutéis de esta selección de chucrut, cerveza y escotes bávaros.
