Gadafi, Gaddafi, Gadhafi y Kadhafi

CORRECTING BYLINE – CROPPED VERSION A grab from a video taken from the mobile phone of a National Transitional Council (NTC) fighter shows the arrest of Libya’s strongman Moamer Kadhafi in Sirte on October 20, 2011.   AFP PHOTO/DSK

A combo of file pictures created on April 20, 2011 shows Libyan leader Moamer Kadhafi. Kadhafi is facing an unprecedented challenge to his four-decade rule of the oil-rich North African country as forces loyal to his regime continue to battle rebels who have launched an uprising since mid February.  Moamer Kadhafi’s 42-year rule in Libya is “clearly crumbling,” NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen said early Monday as rebels launched a fierce street battle for Tripoli in a final push for victory.    AFP PHOTO / – / FILES

TOPSHOTS, AFP’S SELECTION OF THE BEST PHOTOS TRANSMITTED. AFP’S TOPSHOTS, A NEW WAY OF RECEIVING AFP’S BEST PHOTOS, UPDATED EVERY 8 HOURS. SEARCH ‘TOPSHOTS’ FOR A DEFINITIVE SELECTION OF AFP’S WORLD WIDE PRODUCTION FROM BREAKING NEWS TO BREATHTAKING PICTURES. AFP PHOTO

World Press Photo of the Year 2009 – Pietro Masturzo, Italy – From the rooftops of Tehran, June

Second prize Spot News stories – Olivier Laban-Mattei – Post-election protests in Tehran in June AFP
