Ya es el tercer año que celebro el cambio de año trabajando como esbirro de la edición gráfica en Público y el segundo desde que escribo esta bitácora. Como ya es tradicional y como vienen haciendo todos los medios de comunicación incluido el nuestro, os presento esta selección fotográfica de los temas del año 2009 que ya despedimos. Esta labor se hace más fácil gracias a las ediciones que nos llegan de Afp, Reuters y Ap con resumenes del año, es una lástima que nuestra agencia española Efe no haga este trabajo. Podéis ver la selección del año pasado en este enlace y os recomiendo ver aquí lo preparado por los compañeros de nuestra web sobre el 2009.

Sin duda el tema del año en el tema internacional ha sido Obama. El ascenso al poder del primer negro a la presidencia de los USA con su “Yes We Can”, su toma de posesión y posteriores acciones de gobierno llenaron páginas y páginas en nuestro diario. Resaltar el gran trabajo de Pete Souza y su equipo de fotografía de la casa blanca y que podéis encontrar en este enlace de flickr.
En la Mesa de Luz le he dedicado algunos post a Obama durante este año: “Obama lider intergaláctico”, “Obama, un año después”, “El discurso de Obama” y “La investidura de Obama”.

Las protestas de la oposición iraní han sido noticia importante este 2009. De especial importancia desde el punto de vista foto-periodístico e informativo por la gran censura en el país que llevó a los medios de comunicación a utilizar las redes sociales y a periodistas ciudadanos para seguir la noticia y, a nosotros los editores, para conseguir las fotos. Durante la búsqueda del avión de Air France que se estrelló en el Atlántico, tuvimos que publicar las típicas fotografías con una gran carga informativa pero pocas cualidades técnicas y estéticas.

El tema Israel-Palestina siempre es noticia y seguirá siendo noticia. La invasión de Gaza y bombas de fósforo utilizadas en el ataque fue la principal noticia en referencia a este conflicto. En el post “La invasión de Gaza en 50 fotos” podéis ver una edición sobre este tema.
Los coletazos de las guerras de Bush, Afganistán e Irak fueron noticia y lo seguirán siendo el año que viene.
Para terminar con la sección de internacional resaltar estos dos aniversarios: El 60 aniversario de la República Popular China (“China 60 años después”)y el 20 aniversario de la caída del muro de Berlín (“Aquí había un muro hace 20 años”), las inundaciones en Asia, y el encierro de Zelaya en la embajada brasileña en Honduras.

Gurthel, Camps, “el Bigotes”, el sastre… un elenco de caras y personajes en puertas de juzgados. Esta es la imagen que hemos de utilizar cuando se tratan las informaciones sobre corrupción. Imágenes difíciles de conseguir de tipos que no eran noticia hasta que fueron acusados de robar. Teniendo que enviar a un fotógrafo a hacer una larga guardia para fotografiar en pocos segundos a un acusado, imputado, etc… en la puerta de un juzgado. Sacar una buena foto en estas informaciones es tarea difícil.

El secuestro del Alakrana y de los cooperantes den Mauritania son informaciones difíciles de ilustrar por razones obvias. Un recurso del lugar del secuestro, una imagen aérea del barco secuestrado o unas caritas de archivo de los secuestrados, es muchas veces nuestra única materia prima para tratar estas horribles informaciones.
Por otra parte este año ha habido selecciones en el país vasco, donde ha habido cambio de gobierno pasando el cargo de Lendakari del PNV al PSOE, y también se celebraron elecciones al Parlamento Europeo, en el post “Doce fotos de la eurocámara” podéis ver algunas fotos de esta institución europea.

Junto con Política, esta es la sección donde nuestros fotógrafos colaboradores tienen más cancha. La ley del aborto se votó en el congreso y el tema de la memoria histórica siguió siendo tema importante para el diario. La apertura de la fosa donde se supone que están los restos de Lorca seguirá siendo noticia el año que viene. El tema de los crucifijos en las escuelas lo hemos solucionado gracias a diferentes recursos de aulas encargados a fotógrafos como Reyes Sedano. Este último mes se trató la huelga de hambre de la Saharaui Haidar con fotos de nuestros fotógrafos Dani Pozo y Mónica Patxot.

El año de Darwin toca a su fin. Y la cumbre de Copenhague terminó sin grandes avances dejando el cambio climático para otro momento. La sección de ciencias siempre es difícil de ilustrar fotográficamente hablando. Muchas veces dependemos de imágenes científicas que consiguen los redactores.
Se dio en 2009 un gran paso en la lucha contra el SIDA (“Un día de lazos rojos contra el SIDA”) con la noticia de grandes avances en investigación para conseguir una vacuna. Este tema lo ilustramos con unas grandes imágenes que nuestro fotógrafo Ángel Navarrete hizo en su viaje por thailandia.

La muerte de Michael Jackson nos pilló por sorpresa en la redacción a una hora muy pegada al cierre. Los temas que ocurren durante el día en países situados al oeste de la península nos dan este tipo de problemas por el cambio horario.
Jose Luis López Vázquez murió en 2009 y por desgracia la agencia Efe no pasó mucho material de archivo por la línea del día y tuvimos que escarbar en su archivo y pagar las fotos aparte. Penélope Cruz ganó un Oscar, aunque tuvimos que dar la noticia con un día de retraso al ser la ceremonia en la tarde-noche de la costa oeste de los USA.

Pero para mí las noticias más importantes de este año están relacionadas con la fotografía. La aparición de los negativos de las fotos de la guerra civil de Robert Capa y Gerda Taro y la historia y periplo de los negativos de Agustí Centelles, sin duda el Capa español. Espero en las próximas semanas dedicar un post como se merece a Centelles reuniendo todo lo contado sobre el tema.

Gasol gana el anillo de la NBA, el Barça de Guardiola arrasa con todo (“Los fotógrafos en la final de Roma”), Bolt, la decepción de la candidatura olímpica de Madrid 2012, el accidente de Massa, el fichaje de Maradona como seleccionador argentino o el Tour de France (“Un día en el Tour de France”) fueron algunos de los temas más importantes. Todos ellos fueron bien cubiertos por las agencias y aquí tenéis algunas fotos. Mencionar a nuestros fotógrafos que trabajan los fines de semana haciendo el futbol, fotografiando y enviando rápido a la redacción.

Espero que el año que viene regalaros otro post con el resumen del 2010 en imágenes en esta bitácora y que el año que viene sea muy feliz para todos.
