La ovación que la plana mayor del Partido Popular dedicó a Francisco Camps ayer en Mallorca durante la presentación oficial de sus candidatos a las elecciones autonómicas no resulta sorprendente, pero sí vergonzante para la higiene democrática. "El Gobierno (socialista) nos lo ha quitado todo, menos la dignidad y las ganas de trabajar", se atrevió a proclamar Camps entre aplausos y vítores de la concurrencia. Un presidente imputado por aceptar regalos de una trama corrupta coordinada por un "amiguito del alma" cuyas empresas recibían contratos millonarios de la Administración autonómica del País Valencià acusa al Gobierno del Estado de ¡quitarle todo! Y los dirigentes del PP, con su secretaria general a la cabeza, jalean el disparate sin sonrojarse ante las evidencias judiciales de que los únicos que "han quitado todo" lo que han podido a los contribuyentes (un mínimo de 120 millones de euros) son los implicados en la trama Gürtel. Esta falta de pudor, sólo explicable por la indisimulada euforia del PP ante las próximas citas electorales, roza el surrealismo con las propuestas de "regeneración política" incluidas en su programa para el 22 de mayo. La lucha contra la corrupción se convierte en "objetivo principal" del PP, sin escatimar respuestas "contundentes" como la transparencia en la concesión de contratos públicos o la reforma del Código Penal para endurecer los castigos o agilizar los procesos que afecten a los políticos.
