Lo malo de haber estado de vacaciones este mes de agosto es que no estuve trabajando durante las olimpiadas de Pekín. Cuando volví a la redacción  en septiembre me di una vuelta por las agencias y ojeé algunas fotos de los Juegos Olímpicos. La verdad es que había fotos muy buenas. Las qué mas me impresionaron fueron las fotografías que se hicieron debajo del agua en la piscina del Cubo del Agua, el Water Cube.

En la mesa nos preguntábamos cómo se habían realizados estas imágenes. Pensábamos que podía existir algún tipo de cristal en el fondo de la piscina. Yo he visto esos cristales en el fondo de alguna piscina. Pero fue hace una semana, buscando fotos de Phelps para un reportaje que escribió Ignacio Romo, cuando encontré estas fotos de la cámara sub-acuática que utilizó AFP en los juegos.

No he encontrado más información que la que aparece en el pie de foto. Se trata de un prototipo de carcasa submarina que permite el control remoto de todas las funciones de la cámara. Supongo que la carcasa también permite cambiar la posición de la cámara y así cambiar el encuadre.

Las imágenes resultantes son espectaculares. La cubierta del Water Cube, con esas formas basadas en la molécula del agua, ayuda a que las imágenes ganen estéticamente.
